GREER!

I first met Libby and Bill at their wedding a few years ago. Seriously, these two were so in love it made me cry! They welcome Baby Greer to the lovefest and I got the privilege to photograph her!

HOT HOT HOT!

OK, so no one is going to disagree that it was a THOUSAND DEGREES last Saturday...so how does this couple look so radiant...JHP brought in HUGE fans, ice and lots of cold drinks...actually....Danielle and Blake were just really good sports when I asked them to walk the gardens at Oatlands. They looked amazing and you can hardly tell it was hot.

Hats off to you STEVEN!

Steven and I rallied yesterday to fight gnats and construction crews as we headed off for some senior pics before he's no longer a senior. Love this shot of him throwing his cap--I'm thinking he would make a great candidate for the JMU Ultimate Team! GO DUKES! Congrats Steven!

Team Nolan 2010

Hi Everyone!
Thank you for such a successful day! We loved seeing a sea of Team Nolan and Super Will shirts! You make living with this disease easier for us Moms. Thank you!

Congratulations to Rachel Roberts who won the raffle Friday night! I'll keep you posted on how much both Team Nolan and Team Will raised! Hopefully, because of you, we are a little closer to a cure! xo

OH Emerson!

OK, so what a beauty! I had the pleasure of photographing this cutie on Saturday! I probably could have photographed her for hours, but I think she was ready for nap time after an hour. Being a super model isn't as easy as everyone thinks!

Parker--the little miracle!

I had the great pleasure of photographing Parker on Saturday.  I love to hear success stories like his.  Little Parker was born August 30th at only 24 weeks.  He weighed 1 pound 9 ounces.  Parker spent 113 days in the NICU where he became a superstar--with his own fan club!  He came home right before Santa Claus on December 21st, 6 days after his original due date!
Today Parker is perfect!  He weighs 10 pounds and loves having his picture taken!

PATRICK IS 1!

So excited to do a portrait session with my favorite one year old...yikes...I'm going to get in major trouble saying that-- but when you see this face...you are going to melt!!! I've been photographing Patrick every month since his birth. LOVED watching him grow throughout the year. Today he was talking, eating his VERY FIRST cupcake, and could very well be the fastest crawler on the east coast. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK! Can't wait to eat cake with you!

How could this be?

We can't wrap our heads around it!

Most of you who have been former brides or those of you who have GORGEOUS Christmas cards made know the better half of Joylyn Hannahs Photography, LLC--Lara.  I call her my secret weapon, not much of a secret, but truly a major part of the business's success.   She and I made the jump from teaching, to full-time Moms, to photographers, and now we share something that we hoped never to share.  Lara's son Will was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on Thursday evening.  She spent two nights in ICU with Will and finally arrived home on Saturday.  It's hard to wrap my head around this coincidence.  How could someone whom I am so close to have to deal with this horrific disease?  Why sweet little Will?  I guess none of which we'll ever know the answers for but we can hope for something greater--a CURE.  Maybe this was part of the plan-- Take two people who love each other and their families and make them a powerhouse to help find a cure.  --We Will.  That's my promise!

Stay tuned for our plans of how we will fight for our little boys so they may lead lives without needles, pumps, meters, insulin, and one day they will have the ability to eat all birthday cake they want!

Please keep Lara and Will in your thoughts and prayers!
